The Israeli Tolkien Community

The Israeli Tolkien Community is a group of Israeli, Hebrew-speaking fans of J.R.R. Tolkien and his work, who engage in common activities. Among our diverse actitivites are the development of websites, conferences, social gatherings and events, hikes, advanced research about Tolkien's works and the development of online forums.

Many of Tolkien's works have been translated into Hebrew, and he is considered a popular and well-loved author in Israel. His books which have been translated are: The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales, The Adventures of Tom Bombadil, Tree and Leaf, Farmer Giles of Ham and Smith of Wooton Major.

The goal of our community is to study Tolkien's works as well as spread the love and appreciation of these works among the Israeli public. Another important goal is to provide information and research in Hebrew that will enrich those readers who wish to learn more, and to promote the study of Tolkien and his works in Israeli universities.

Our activity is conducted in Hebrew, but we are always glad to meet Tolkien fans from all over the world. We have connections and co-operation with the German Tolkien Society and several other Tolkien Societies around the world.
